Papas grossas, I believe, the English term is "porridge". The cinnamon, made me remember the rice pudding, which I also add lemon, to it. My grandmother had passed away in 1994, she was a cook, for 10 years, in Sao Miguel, before getting married.

I make the best, Portuguese rice pudding, in my family; and, that's because I took the time, to get the recipe, from my grandmother, who had her own system, of measuring ingredients.
Gaspar Avila replied:
Hello, Maria. This is actually not rice pudding. It's "papas grossas". I don't know their name in English, but it's made from corn flour. I love rice pudding also. My mother used to make it when I was a child. My wife also makes rice pudding, but she adds a bit of lemon Jell-O for extra smoothness.
